What is www?

www

Most of us do not know the www extension used at the beginning of the internet addresses and what it means, and we have never even thought about it. The www extension, which is used in internet networks all over the world today, actually makes our job easier in the searches we make in the virtual environment. In order to reach this information more easily, since it is a system that allows us to access the information we are looking for through a single channel.

What does it mean?

In today's age, the value of gold is knowledge. We can easily access this information using the internet. However, we need to use a password for this as well. www is the password that allows us to access the information of our age. So they are the magic words of virtual networks.

Thanks to this network, all computers used in the world can communicate with each other and exchange information. In short, it is called the web.

The Conveniences It Provides

The web is the internet's most traded medium in the world. Therefore, all information should be collected here. The www extension ensures that all information published on the internet is collected in the same channel and that people can access this information from a single channel.

To put it more clearly: There is a lot of material to be published on the Internet. Documents, articles, photos, graphics, animations, presentations, music, videos on a variety of topics... The goal of everyone who posts them is to reach more people. However, we cannot research these materials one by one and send them directly to people whose e-mail addresses or websites we do not know. It can literally be thought of as digging a well with a needle. In the end, we get nothing. Therefore, the information and materials to be published should be collected in a single point. www web extension collects these documents in a single channel. This provides great convenience to today's internet users.

Structure and Features

Using Internet packages that support Netscape Communicator or Microsoft Internet Explorer is sufficient to connect to the World Wide Web. A computer or browser that does not support these programs is not produced today anyway. There is one more thing to know about this subject. This is because the terms internet and web are not the same. When we say internet, we should think of a much wider network. However, the part we call the web constitutes a very large part of this huge network. In other words, almost all of the internet users in the world are connected to the internet via the web.

History

The first of the web concept was developed at the CERN physics laboratory in Switzerland, the heart of earth science. In the years 1989 and 1990, when the concept of the internet did not enter our lives yet, scientists were trying to create a system where they could announce their work to the whole world as soon as possible. However, in 1993 at the University of Illinois, the "Mossiac" system, a crossover graphics browser, was developed.

However, all these studies could not provide information sharing at the speed and features desired by scientists. So they started to work even harder. As a result of these studies, the World Wide Web system was found and towards the end of the 1990s, it began to be widely used all over the world.
