Invention of the Telephone

Starting from America and covering the whole world in a short time, the phones did not look like they do today. There were two separate mechanisms for listening and speaking on the handset on the phones.

One of the types of telephones used by a generation was dial telephones. When you dialed the number one by one, you would hear the dial tone of the mechanism.

When telephone technology consisted of voices transmitted by wires, switchboards and, of course, officers who would work there were needed to connect these wires. What put an end to the dominance of switchboards and the nostalgic dial telephone was that, thanks to the development of electronics towards the 1960s, the first push-button, electronic telephones gradually took their places on the shelves.

When the phone and nostalgia come together, it is impossible not to mention the pay phone. Everyone over the age of thirty once stood in line at payphones with a coin in hand.

The event that brought us one step closer to the telephone technology we use today was Guglielmo Marconi's discovery of the radio. Radio frequencies made possible the invention of the wireless telephone, the ancestor of cell phones. After data transmission started with radio frequencies and wireless phones provided communication on land and at sea, it was time for the first mobile phone. Now everyone can carry their phone in their pocket.

The last point of Telephone Technology has been smartphones, which enable us to manage everything from business life to controlling our health status in the palm of our hand.

Although it has been in our lives for a short time, the invention and development of the telephone deeply affected civilization. When we look at today's technology, future technologies make us very excited and thinking. The telephone has also been one of the most incredible inventions in history that surprised the world. In fact, this invention, which was created by chance, is currently being produced with a technology that can be used instead of a computer. There are many claims and confusing history notes about the invention of the telephone. Actually telephone as a electronic devices the more electronics evolve the more qualified telephone developed. Therefore, we need to know about history of electronics

There are many date notes stating that the phone was found in the 1700s or the end of the 1800s. But “Alexander Graham Bell” was the only person to bring a tangible result to these discussions by inventing the telephone in 1876. Although there are various ideas about who invented it first, we know that Graham Bell received his patent in 1876. This invention, which was completely accidental, surprised many people and reached the potential to increase Graham Bell's business life and prestige.

Invention of the Phone

The main purpose of Graham Bell, who invented the telephone in 1876, was actually to produce a device that would enable the deaf to speak and help them hear. Bell's father, whose mother is deaf and mute, opened many schools for the deaf throughout his life. Bell, who wanted to help his father after these sacrifices and efforts were ineffective, worked on a lot of research. Working as a professor at Boston University, Bell thought a lot about transmitting the same sound to the other side with the help of a device that produces sounds mechanically. Graham Bell, while working on a telegraph setup to generate sounds mechanically, accidentally managed to transmit sound over a cable, thus inventing the telephone. In other words, we can say that the ancestor of the telephone is the telegraph. Graham Bell did his work by developing it on a telegraph device. While working on a mechanism, he heard the vibrations of the current while speaking and received the first fruit of his efforts. These vibrations created great hope in Bell and made him even more ambitious.

Bell makes the first telephone call between Chicago and New York, 1892.

Working at home with his friend "Thomas Watson", who helped him in this experiment, Bell asked Watson for help when something spilled on him while he was investigating. But his friend Watson said that he heard Bell's voice through the device, although he was in another room of the house at the time. They noticed that the binary sound that does the same by changing places is transmitted. Graham Bell's first sentence on the phone was "Mr. Watson Come Here I Want to See You”. Graham Bell patented the telephone on March 7, 1876. Graham Bell presented his invention for the first time at the Bell Philadelphia Centennial fair in Baston. With the invention being highly appreciated, many businessmen had a telephone device connected to their office. Faced with high demand, Bell established his own company and started to manufacture telephones.

Why do we say "Hello"?

According to a rumor, Bell, who had a telephone line built in the house of his lover, who is Allessondra Lolita Oswaldo, came up with the word "Hello", which we use today, on the phone by using the initials of his lover's name and abbreviation.

The History of Telephone in Turkey

In Turkey, telephones were first used in 1908. Then, with the switchboard application, telephone devices started to be connected to the houses. The first use of mobile phones in Turkey took place on February 23, 1994. This telephone conversation was made between President Süleyman Demirel and Prime Minister Tansu Çiller.
